Food Standards and Consumer Issues

Overall Objective: To provide NSW Health, and the Commonwealth government, with well-informed advice on matters of national food and nutrition policy, particularly food regulatory changes proposed to/by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).

FSANZ is an independent statutory agency working within an integrated food regulatory system involving the governments of Australia and the New Zealand Government. They set food standards for the two countries. FSANZ is part of the Australian Government’s Health and Ageing portfolio.
