The Centre provides considered, detailed and referenced briefing papers to NSW Health, on food standard issues relating to public health nutrition mainly arising from applications and proposals from Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).

Food signposting

A number of national food standards agencies have examined the issue of ‘food signposting’ where simple symbols or text are used to represent various aspects of nutritional value of the food. Energy density is an important determinant of energy intake and thus a potential element of any signposting. This study will examine different food signposting systems.
